Balancing work and a personal life is a challenge many of us face. Just when you think you are spending enough time at work, your personal life starts to suffer, and vice versa. Some individuals’ situations are more tricky than others depending on their family obligations, commute, and various other factors; however, very few people seem to have found a balance they are satisfied with.

At SnapSuites, we provide both work and lifestyle amenities to hopefully make finding this balance a bit easier. We provide discounted memberships to Boston Sports Clubs, with  three locations within 1/2 a mile of SnapSuites, which allows people to squeeze their work out into the work day. We also grant members 24/7 access, 365 days a year, so that they can come into their private offices when it works best for them. Our coffee and hot beverage station take one less stop off of members’ commute in to work as well.

Even with these amenities, we understand that the balance is still hard. We’re here to share with you a few tips to help you make your way towards a more balanced life.

  1. Unplug when you’re at home: If you are constantly checking your email while at home, it’s inevitable that you’re going to be distracted. There will be emails that you HAVE to respond to, and people that need your attention RIGHT AWAY. If you shut this off completely, you won’t be bothered. Your colleagues will come to know your schedule and to not expect an answer outside of work hours.b0n4-pef60q-crew
  2. Maximize your productivity while at work: Get it all done while you’re there. If you work hard and effectively during the day, there will be less of a need for you to be finishing things at home in the evening and on weekends.
  3. Make time for yourself: This may sound counter-intuitive, but when we don’t spend time on ourselves, we get more stressed out, which can upset any balance. Set aside time to exercise, rest, and eat healthy meals. Exercise in particular pumps feel-good endorphins through your body, which will make it easier to be productive while at work and more present when at home.9n7rxecsqlq-kelly-brito
  4. Accepting that it won’t be perfect: We all want to feel like we’re giving everyone our 100%, but it’s just not possible. None of us are able to do this, so accepting that we’re going to make mistakes is the better alternative. When you miss a soccer game for a board meeting, say you’re sorry instead of making excuses.
  5. Utilize resources: There are people out there to help you. There is technology that will make your job simpler. Use these things, and don’t feel ashamed about it. Often times, our co-workers are more than happy to help on a project, but if we don’t ask for help, we’ll never know. ezsm8xrjnx0-nordwood-themes
